Brits write and speak in code – very little can be understood at face value. Meaning is often obscured, so you have to read between the lines of what has actually been written or said in order to fully understand. If you don’t know the code, if you don’t know the rules, it can be very frustrating.
This is not a lecture. You will practise real conversations, bring your own situations, and experiment in a safe, supportive space.
How do you complain in Britain in order to get someone to do something?
How do you express excitement in a country where excitement isn’t something you express?
How do you read a school report to work out how your child is really performing?
How do you give and receive feedback at work?
Deciphering the code is key to communicating effectively in Britain. This course will help you crack the code, so you will be able to express yourself, be understood and get what you want…all in the British manner.
