Maria started dancing ballet at the age of 3. Inspired by her cousin Evgenia Obraztsova (current principal and lead solist of the Bolshoi Ballet Company in Moscow, Russia) Maria decided to follow her footseps. In 2008 Maria successfully entered the Tallinn Ballet School in Estonia and was invited to perform at the Estonian National Opera. Her repertoire included The Nutcracker (little doll); Shannon Rose (young Rose); Sleeping Beauty (Page-boy); The water jug dance "Manu" from La Bayadere; Tchaikovsky's Polonaise and Shostakovich Andante by D. Harchenko. Maria was also invited to perform at Kaie Kõrb's (Estonian Prima - Ballerina) Ballet Studio Annual Shows performing Armida's Pavilion Variation from Paquita; Amour Variation from Don Quixote; Chopin Waltz #14 - dancing Butterfly by T. Kõrreveski.
Maria believes ballet is a beautiful form of art which develops love for movement and explores the athletic side of the dance. Maria has always been passionate about sharing her professional dancing experiences. In 2012 she started teaching ballet classes at the University of Aberdeen, UK while studying for her Politics and International Relations degree. In 2017 Maria relocated to London where she continues giving ballet lessons for kids and adults focusing on the Russian ballet technique and helping people to improve their balance and coordination through the most graceful and fine art.
Russian Ballet training has given Maria strong professional foundation which she applies in other dances. Despite ballet being her main speciality, Maria trains in Ballroom and Latin Dancing including Argentine Tango. Maria always strives to develop herself in different dance directions. In 2017 she met her dance partner Shaun who trained her in Argentinian Tango. In 2018 couple took the 6th place at the European Argentine Tango Championship in London and continues to compete and performs the shows around London . Currently Maria teaches Ballroom, Latin, A. Tango and Ballet at Arthur Murray Dance Studios in London. Maria believes dance is a living art and anyone can expereince it. She delivers her lessons with love and passion helping students to become more expressive, graceful, strong and confident through their bodies.
